French police arrested a man they believe to be connected to the November 13 Paris attacks on Tuesday. The man is said to be 29 years old and was planning on moving to Syria. Two others have also been arrested, linked to a possible involvement in the January attacks in France.
The three men have been taken in for questioning. It comes after French authorities have carried out 2,700 raids since the devastating, shocking November attacks that killed 130 people. So far, 360 people have been sentenced to house arrest across the country for various crimes linked to terrorism.
Two arrested for their link to the January kosher supermarket attack have been held in northern France. Prosecutors say that they are being held on suspicion of helping to provide Amedy Coulibaly guns to carry out the attack. He killed four people in the supermarket and one police woman before being killed by police. The man detained has been named as Claude Hermant, and the woman is his partner. Hermant is known for his links to far-right groups, and was already an alleged arms trafficker.
The 29-year-old arrested in connection to the Paris attacks has not yet been named. There have already been eight arrests in Belgium and two in France over the Paris attacks. A Belgian man has also been detained in Turkey. Authorities believe he scouted the concert hall, restaurants and bars that were the locations for the devastating attacks. Salah Abdeslam, one of the named suspected attackers, is still reportedly on the run.
