NFL: Who Made the Playoffs?

NFL

The 2015 NFL football regular season came to an end on January 3 with less than half of the teams finishing the season with a winning record saw Peyton Manning not only return to the game but led the team to victory, and had Seattle Seahawk quarterback Russell Wilson setting a franchise record for having the most touchdown passes in a single season with 33.

While a few teams knew that they would be playing in the post season, it came down to the last game of the season between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings before all of the pieces fell into place

The Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos will all have next week off and will have to wait the results of next week’s games before they learn whom their opponents will be.

The Seattle Seahawks will travel to Minneapolis to play the Minnesota Vikings.

The Green Bay Packers will travel to Landover, Maryland to play the Washington Redskins.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to Cincinnati to play the Bengals.

And the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Houston to play the Texans.

Now that the regular season is over, the order of the draft picks has also been decided…at least the first 20 spots; the remaining 12 will be determined by how the teams fare in the post season.

Last season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the first pick and chose Florida State University Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston. After a 3-13 season last year, the Buccaneers finished with a record of 6-10. Last year’s number two pick the Tennessee Titans were the second team to select in the draft and chose the University of Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota.

This season the Tennessee Titans will have the first choice in the draft in April followed by the Cleveland Browns. Both teams finished with a 3-13 record but the Titans edged out for the top pick based on their strength of schedule.

The order of the first 20 teams for the 2016 draft are:
Tennessee Titans
Cleveland Browns
San Diego Chargers
Dallas Cowboys
Jacksonville Jaguars
Baltimore Ravens
San Francisco 49ers
Miami Dolphins
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
New York Giants
Chicago Bears
New Orleans Saints
Philadelphia Eagles
Oakland Raiders
St. Louis Rams
Detroit Lions
Atlanta Falcons
Indianapolis Colts
Buffalo Bills
New York Jets
