73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards – Complete Winners List

Often viewed as an early indication of how the Academy Awards may go, the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards kicks off the industry voted award season.

Live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel Ricky Gervais returns to host the gala event. Each year the Golden Globe selects a son or daughter of a Hollywood star to serve as Mr./Miss Golden Globe to assist in handing out the awards. This year Miss Golden Globe is the daughter of Jame Foxx – Corrine.

The Golden Globe Awards are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

After nearly 10 minutes of a monologue of somewhat questionable taste by host Ricky Gervais Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill – the bear – presented the first award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture to Kate Winslett for her role in “Steve Jobs”.

The award for Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited Series, or Made for TV Movie went to Maura Tierney for her role in “The Affair”.

The award for Best Actress in a TV Musical or Comedy went to Rachel Bloom for her role in “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”.

The award for Best TV Comedy went to “Mozart in the Jungle”.

The award for Best Limited Series or TV Movie went to “Wolf Hall”.

The award for Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie went to Oscar Isaac for his role in “Show Me a Hero”.

Lady Gaga helped to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Limited Series, or TV Movie to Christian Slater for his role in “Mr. Robot”.

The award for Best Motion Picture Score went to Ennio Morricone for the music for “The Hateful Eight”.

The award for Best Actor in a TV Drama went to Jon Hamm for his role in “Mad Men”.

The award for Best Actor in a Comedy Motion Picture went to Matt Damon for his role in “The Martian”.

The award for Best Animated Feature Film went to “Inside Out”.

The award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture went to Sylvester Stallone for his role in the new “Rocky” themed movie “Creed”. Stallone received a standing ovation and rousing applause for the win.

No movie can begin without first having a screenplay; the award for Best Screenplay went to Aaron Sorkin for the screenplay for “Steve Jobs”.

The award for Best Actor in a TV Comedy went to Gael Garcia Bernal for his role in “Mozart in the Jungle”.

The award or Best Foreign Language Film went to “Son of Saul” from Hungary. Presenter Helen Mirren noted that it was the first time that Hungary had won the award.

The award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie went to Lady Gaga for her role in “American Horror Story: Hotel”.

Pop star Katy Perry presents the award for Best Original Song to “Writing’s on the Wall” by Sam Smith from the James Bond film “Spectre”.

The award for Best TV Drama went to “Mr. Robot”.

Despite having a cold, a somewhat horse Tom Hanks presented the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Saying that the body of work is as noble and legendary as it is eternal, Hanks presented the award to actor Denzel Washington. He brought members of his family up on stage with him to accept the award.

Morgan Freeman presented the award for Best Motion Picture Director to Alejandro G Inarritu for his film “The Revenant”.

The award for Best Actress in a TV Drama went to Taraji P. Henson for her role in “Empire”.

Michael Keaton presents the award for Best Actress in a Comedy Motion Picture to Jennifer Lawrence for her role in “Joy”.

Jim Carey presents the award for Best Comedy Motion Picture to “The Martian”.

Eddie Redmeyne present the award for Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture to Brie Larson for her role in “The Room”.

Julianne Moore presented the award for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture to Leonardo DiCaprio for his role n “The Revenant”. In his acceptance speech, DiCaprio spoke in support of the First Nations; thanking them for their participation in the film and recognizing their plight.

In the final award presentation of the night, Harrison Ford presents the award for Best Drama Motion Picture to “The Revenant”.
