U.S. Weather Forecast March 25, 2016:

A blizzard from Winter Storm Selene has buried much of the northern U.S., including causing freeways and the airport to be closed in Denver.  The airport is slowly coming back to life, but hundreds of people will be stranded over the weekend until flights can get everyone to their destinations.  The storm also dumped heavy snow across Wisconsin, Michigan and around the Great Lakes … more than a foot in some places.  The ice and snow will move into the Northeast on Friday, with stormy weather along most of the East Coast.

South of the areas of snow, there were violent storms, including some tornado watches, especially along the Gulf of Mexico from Louisiana to the Panhandle of Florida, and including other states in the Southeast.  This is the front that will be moving along the East Coast on Friday.

Below is the “Big Picture” showing the U.S. weather forecast, beginning with where Winter Storm Selene dumped up to 1 foot of snow and continuing through the weekend storms.
