There have been a number of pregnancies and an imminent baby boom for former contestants on The Bachelor. An unusual number of former women on The Bachelor franchise are pregnant or recently had a baby … exciting news for long-term fans of the show. Find out who is pregnant, who just gave birth and see pictures of most of this charming group of happy women!
After 20 years of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad and Bachelor in Paradise, there have now been a number of successful marriages and relationships … although not always with someone the contestants met through the franchise. In 2016, several of those former contestants have announced they will be having babies … much to the delight of fans around the world.
Below are photos and some of the details about the couples who are expecting.
Ali Fedotowsky and Kevin Manno
Ali was a contestant on both The Bachelor and she starred in her own season of The Bachelorette. She and her fiance are now expecting a baby girl in July. She still looks good in a bikini, too … as you can see in the second photo below.
Ali first appeared on Jake Pavelka’s season of The Bachelor before headlining her own season. While she didn’t find love on the show, she and Kevin are happy together and can’t wait for their baby to arrive. Their due date is July 13.
Catherine Giudici and Sean Lowe
Catherine and Sean have announced their pregnancy, but Catherine also made it clear on social media that fans will not find out the gender of their child until he or she arrives. The baby is due in late June or early July.
Ashley Salter and Austin Brannen
Ashley and Austin are expecting a son in April … in just a few weeks! She is 25 and her fiance, Austin, is a real estate professional. She first came to the attention of fans during Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor, during which she received a great deal of teasing over her enthusiasm about onions and their many layers. In the photo below, she shared news of her pregnancy with host of The Bachelor, Chris Harrison, at the wedding of Jade and Tanner, which was televised on February 14, 2016.
DeAnna Pappas and Stephen Stagliano
DeAnna was a fan sweetheart during The Bachelor season 11 and, later, on The Bachelorette, season 4. She did not marry another contestant on the show. Instead, her husband Stephen Stagliano is the twin brother of one of the former contestants. Their baby was due February 26. The baby has now arrived and was named Austin. Here’s a photo of DeAnna just before the baby arrived:
Emily Maynard and Tyler Johnson
Emily was a finalist on The Bachelor when she became engaged to Brad Womack. When that engagement did not work out, she also had her own season of The Bachelorette and accepted a proposal from Jef Holm before breaking off that relationship, as well. Although she came close during both series, she never quite found the right man for her … until after the show was over.
Emily is now happily married to Tyler Johnson, whom she met at church and married in June 2014 in South Carolina.
Fans may remember that Emily already had a daughter, Ricki. The couple had their first child together, Jennings Tyler, last July and the couple is expecting another child late this summer. Emily has also written a book about her experiences with reality television called “I Said Yes: My Story of Heartbreak, Redemption and True Love.”
Renee Oteri and Bracy Maynard
Renee was one of the contestants on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor. While she did not find love on the show, she is one of many former contestants who did find love later. She has known her husband for 20 years and the couple got married on March 20, 2014. The couple is now expecting their second child … the third for Renee.
Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland
Melissa has continued to make appearances for ABC on a variety of other entertainment shows, including Dancing With the Stars … where she often interviews the contestants. She was engaged for a short time to The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick (season 13), but was dumped very unceremoniously on the After the Final Rose special. Melissa is expecting baby number three with husband Tye Strickland. Their baby is due in April or May.
Erica Rose and Galen Gantry
Fans may not remember Erica quite as quickly as the other women, since it has been a few years since she appeared on the Bachelor season 9 and Bachelor Pad 2. If you aren’t sure you remember her, it may help if you remember her as the girl who wore the tiara during much of the season! She has also recently announced her pregnancy.
With so many current and former contestants who have been involved over the years in The Bachelor franchise, fans can expect more pregnancies in coming years.
Announcements made on the Twitter accounts of the women mentioned above, as well as during the February 14, 2016 ABC special which showed the wedding of Jade and Tanner.
