The Chuck DeRoe Trio got the July edition of Free Music Fridays at the Niagara Falls Hard Rock Cafe with a variety of cover tunes.
The Trio was comprised of accomplished musicians who performed Rock and Blues music by artists from a various eras including The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, Robert Johnson, and The Allman Brothers.
Band leader Chuck De Rose is definitely a man who knows his way around a guitar and can rock it out on an acoustic guitar. While Chuck played guitar and sang, with Marty playing bass and Robert holding down the beat with a djembe and a square drum.
After opening the night with “You Can’t Always Get What you Want” by The Rolling Stones; the Chuck De Rose Trio performance included ‘Purple Haze”, ‘Come Together”, “Eleanor Rigby’, a Blues rendition of “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Little Wing”, “Stop, Hey, What’s that Sound”, ‘All Along the Watchtower”, “The Wind Cries Mary”, “Whipping Post”, and a medley of songs by The Beatles.
Each week the Hard Rock Cafe features music by some of the best musicians western New York has to offer. During the summer months those Free Music Friday events feature acoustic performances in a more intimate setting in the Cafe with a smaller stage where fans can get close to their favourite musicians.
The stage was smaller but the talent was not when the Chuck De Rose Trio performed at the Hard Rock Cafe.
