On September 17 Blues guitar player Coco Montoya made a return visit to the Bear’s Den at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Hotel in Niagara Falls, New York.
Montoya and his band played to a full house of enthusiastic and appreciative fans who took full advantage of the intimate surroundings of the Bear’s Den venue to express their thoughts and feelings of Montoya. One fan shouted out that they loved Coco. Coco’s response was that he hoped the person who said it was a woman.
Coco repeatedly told the audience how happy he was to be back in the Bear’s Den.
During the hour and a half show Coco played songs he hasn’t played in a long time, some new songs, and some fan favourites. Performing predominantly original songs, Coco did play a piece written by Smokey Robinson.
There was no set list, just Coco Montoya “in the zone”. In the moment and caught up in the show, Coco could not recall exactly which of his songs he had played in the show.
But whether he remembered them songs or not; it didn’t matter because Coco Montoya put on a real show that left the fans screaming for more and not ready to leave.
Coco Montoya is some of those artists who has made a number of visits to the Bear’s Den at Seneca Niagara and continues to fill the house because he is an accomplished and talented musician that knows how to please the crowd.
