Meredith opens up about her feelings she still harbours for McDreamy, giving fans some reprieve after almost 18 months. It’s time to check out Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Episode 3: “I Ain’t No Miracle Worker.”
Caution: There are spoilers for this week’s Grey’s Anatomy episode. If you haven’t read and don’t want to know what happened, don’t read!
The episode starts with Georgia coming into the ER after being hit during her father’s funeral procession. It turned out that Georgia’s estranged daughter Kara was the one driving the car that started the accident, and Kara’s siblings aren’t happy that she’s backed. Well, that is except Georgia, who is happy to find out her sister has returned.
There doesn’t seem to be much wrong with Georgia at first, until she wants to talk to her husband to say that Kara has returned. It turns out that Georgia’s husband is dead and while holding his hand, she goes into cardiac arrest and is declared dead.
Meanwhile, Maggie is dealing with Riggs turning her down last week. It’s even harder for her than it normally would because he has to report to her. So, she turns to Meredith, who says that Maggie should forget about Riggs. At the same time, Meredith is telling Riggs that he needs to agree to that date after all. But Meredith wants Riggs to act horrible to her half-sister, so Maggie will stop liking him.
Riggs isn’t happy with this idea and it isn’t long before Maggie realizes that something is wrong. Instead of realizing there’s a love triangle, she thinks Meredith isn’t interested in her problems. Amelia tells Meredith that it’s time to be a good sister, so Meredith listens to Maggie’s issues.
Back with Georgia, and her daughter Maureen feels her hand squeeze. It gets back to Ameila and Edwards, who believe that it’s nothing. Well, it was definitely something, as Georgia sits up completely alive. There are no neurological deficits, either. It really is a miracle.
This leads to more complaints about Kara being there, and it’s time for Amelia to get something off her chest: they need to be thankful that family is coming back. The siblings go to see their sister and find out that she’s had a baby.
It is also finally time for Arizona to return, and she is definitely not happy. After visiting Sofia in New York—really written in for actress Jessica Capshaw to have her baby—she returns to find out just what Karev has been up to. DeLuca says he will move out, but Arizona tells him not to. While she may be tight with Karev, she is mad at him and we all know what Arizona is like when she’s mad. Even Karev knows, but he’s just dealing with working in the clinic right now.
The best part of the episode was a conversation between Riggs and Meredith. Riggs says that he has dreams that Megan comes back to him. He knows that it’s not going to happen, but he allows his mind to imagine. He wants to know if Meredith does something similar, and she shares that she does. Her dream is of Derek knocking on the door with an apology for being late. It’s okay though, because he’s alive and he is home. There wouldn’t have been a dry eye within the McDreamy fans.
It’s still unclear just what is going to happen to Karev after the incident with DeLuca. Will Arizona help to save his career? How will it all turn out between Meredith, Maggie, and Riggs?
Don’t forget Grey’s Anatomy continues on Thursdays at 8pm on ABC.
