Capitol Records’ 75th Anniversary

Capitol Records is celebrating 75 years of making records in a big way…by releasing a large collection of albums – 75 of them that reach back as far as 1953 and all the way up to 2014. Capitol is releasing the albums in their original format – on vinyl – and include Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Bonnie Raitt, The Band, The Beach Boys, Beck, and Sam Smith. For some of the newer albums, it will mark the first time the records will be available on vinyl.

Each album is being released as a stand alone album. Beginning this month the collection will be released over the next 14 months.

Also planned is a book release on the history of Capitol Records, a docuseries, and on November 15 Capitol Record will become the first record company to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
