Heavy Metal Hall of Fame – Updated

Earlier this month the newest addition to the Hall of Fame museums, the Hall of Heavy Metal History would induct its inaugural class next month.

Most music fans have heard about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; but there are numerous other Halls of Fame dedicated to Songwriters and various musical genres. Now there is a new Hall of Fame – the The Hall of Heavy Metal History.
The non profit organization is dedicated to preserving the legacy of heavy metal musicians and those persons who work in the heavy metal industry.
The inaugural induction ceremony will be hosted by Eddie Trunk and held on January 18 at the Anaheim Expo Center in Anaheim, California. Proceeds from the event wlll go toward the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.
The inaugural inductees into the Hall of Heavy Metal History are:
Ronnie James Dio – a posthumous induction, his widow Wendy will accept the award
Rudy Sarzo of Whitesnake and Ozzy Osbourne
Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot
Randy Rhoads of Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot – a posthumous induction, a member of Rhoads family will accept the award
Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead – a posthumous induction who will have a special guest accept the award
Ross “The Boss” Friedman of Manowar
Vinny Appice of Black Sabbath and Dio
Don Airey of Deep Purple
Andy Zildjian – President and CEO of Sabian Cymbals

The Hall of Heavy Metal History has added some additional nominees that will be inducted on January 18. Also joining the inaugural class of inductees are…Metal Blade Records who is celebrating 35 years of creating metal music, the Scorpions, and the Rainbow Bar and Grill – Lemmy’s favourite hangout.

The Heavy Metal Hall also announced the artists who will be3 performing at the gala event with the Dio Disciplies – Craig Goldy, Simon Wright, Scott Warren, Bjorn Englen, Tim “Ripper Owens, and Joe Retta; the Ross “The Boss” band, Budderside, and Diamond Lane. Some special surprise guest performances are also expected.

The updated Hall of Fame induction list:
