Pop Music Hall Names New Members

There has been some controversy over whether some of the artists who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; because for some, there are artists in The Hall that do not fit the description of Rock music.

But as the list of inductees in the American Pop Music Hall of Fame have shown, there are artists who have crossed both lines and even have been inducted into both Halls.

The Pop Music Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 2013 and resides in temporary quarters in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The Pop Hall is working to establish a permanent location for their Hall of Fame.

Already inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Swedish pop group ABBA, queen of soul Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel, the 60’s band The Dave Clark Five, Earth Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye, The Jackson Five, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross as a part of The Supremes, and Sir Rod Stewart have all been named as the newest inductees for the American Pop Music Hall of Fame.

Pat Boone
Fats Domino
The Drifters
Connie Francis
and Bobby Vee
are being recognized as “Legends” in the field.

The official date for induction or any ceremonies have not yet been announced.
