Donald Trump Wishes Happy New Year to Everyone, Even his Enemies
Donald Trump is ending 2016 the way he started 2016, with a party and a tweet. The President Elect is attending his New Year’s Eve Party at this resort in Florida, Mar-A-Largo with the likes of Sylvester Stallone and music producer great, Quincy Jones, according to Trump’s spokesman, Sean Spicer. Jones, though, has tweeted he will not be attending and will be with family in Los Angeles.
Now, what would a Trump party be without a bit of wisdom from the President Elect through his favorite manner of communication Twitter. Saturday morning, Trump sent his regards for New Year’s stating that, ““Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do.” He then ended it with a sentimental expression, “Love!”
The events taking place at Trump’s resort has raised some eyebrows as to the complicated case of Trump and his conflict of interest with his businesses. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve gals were sold for around $550 to $575 dollars for an evening that includes the dinner, dancing and of course the President Elect himself. When the issue of conflict of interest concerns were raised, incoming White House Director of Strategic Communications Hope Hicks rejected those concerns stating that, “This is an annual celebratory event at the private club, like others that have continued to occur since the election. Additionally, the president cannot and does not have a conflict.”
For those involved in the event, they do feel a sense of change due to the fact that Trump will be sworn in less than 3 weeks as President of the United States. Steve Levine of Jose Graterol Designs told The Palm Beach Post, that it is indeed different. He stated that, “It will be elegant and sophisticated, unique. We never repeat a party, so it’s always different.” Continuing Graterol said, ““We’re excited, we’re honored. We’ve done it for the past two years, so this year feels a little different with [Trump’s] new position.”
