Breaking News: Shooting at Fort Lauderdale Airport,5 confirmed dead
Various news sources are reporting that there has been an unidentified shooter who has opened fire on citizens at the Fort Lauderdale Airport. The airport is one the largest in the country. According to reports, 5 people have been killed and 9 have been injured. According to information received via Twitter from the actual airport, that there is an “ongoing incident” in the baggage claim area of Terminal 2. So far no motive has been uncovered for the shooting but all avenues will be investigated included terrorism. The suspect has not been named as of yet as the investigation continues.
Those who were in the airport at the time of the shooting have also responded via Twitter to describe the incident. Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer who is traveling tweeted that, “I’m at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Shots have been fired. Everyone is running.” Another passenger stated via Twitter, that “I was just in the process of booking myself a flight from the Fort Lauderdale airport and seen this shooting trending wtffffff man.” Images are also being tweeted from those in the airport.
According to a government report on the airport nearly 2.5 million travelers passed through Fort Lauderdale’s airport. The report being issued in November of 2016. The Federal Aviation Administration did not immediately order an official ground stop at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, but officials were not letting anyone inside. All flights have been cancelled at the airport. Law enforcement expert say that authorities have a lot of work to do trying to determine who the suspect is and whether there are other plots afoot. Those investigating will have to determine if there were any accomplices involved in the shootings or if it was a lone gunman.

Update, officials have released the name of the shooter, Estaban Santiago. Sources say the shooter has a military I.D on his person at the time of the shooting. Confusion continues at the airport as there has been reports of more shots being fired in one of the garages at the airport.
