2017 Pro Bowl

After three years of retired professional football players choosing the teams via a draft style choice, the annual All Star Pro Bowl game returns to the traditional AFC-NFC match up. After many years in Hawaii, this year the game is being played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

With only one week to work together and prepare for the game the Pro Bowl game rules are very limited and include only the most basic of plays and blitzing is not allowed. There are no kickoffs during the Pro Bowl all offensive drives begin on the 25 yard line where a kickoff would normally occur.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is coaching the AFC team and Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is coaching the NFC.

The AFC won the coin toss but has deferred to the second half giving the NFC the ball first. With Dak Prescottt at quarterback, the NFC went three and out before punting the ball.

The AFC takes over the ball with Alex Smith at quarterback but after a fumble and a coach’s challenge the NFC retakes the ball on the AFC 47 yard line.

The AFC holds off the NFC with a goal line stance and takes over the ball on the one yard line.

The AFC goes three and out and punts the ball.

The NFC takes over the ball at midfield. After a three and out the NFC chooses to fake the punt and make a play but failed to reach the first down marker.

The AFC takes over the ball on the 44 yard line. The AFC finally makes a first down just before the end of the quarter.

At the end of the first quarter there is no score.

On the first play of the second half alex Smith throws a touchdown pass.

AFC – 7 NFC – 0

Drew Brees is in at quarterback for the NFC. At 38 Brees is the oldest player in the Pro Bowl. Brees has a football intercepted in the end zone.

With Andy Dalton in at quarterback, the AFC takes over the ball but has it intercepted by Richard Sherman.

Brees throws a touchdown pass.

AFC – 7 NFC – 7

The AFC takes over the ball on their own 25 yard line but after a sack they go three and out and have to punt the ball.

The NFC takes over the ball on the 2 yard line and goes three and out.

The AFC makes a 38 yard punt return bringing the ball out to the 38 yard line of the NFC. Dalton throws a touchdown pass.

AFC – 14 NFC – 7

The NFC takes over the ball on the 25 yard line and goes three and out.

The AFC takes over the ball on the 16 yard line but there are only 14 seconds remaining in the half.

HALFTIME: AFC – 14 NFC – 7

The AFC gets the ball first in the third quarter and takes over the ball on the 25 yard line with Andy Dalton at quarterback. Dalton is sacked, but get the first down with a one handed catch on third and nine. Field goal for 38 yards is good.
AFC – 17 NFC – 7

The NFC takes over on the 25 yard lne with Drew Brees still in at quarterback.

AFC head coach Andy Reid has challenged the call of an incompleted pass. The officials confirmed the call.

The NFC punts the ball and the AFC takes over the ball on the 29 yard line. Phillip Rivers takes over at quarterback. The AFC attempts a 41 yard field goa and fakes the play for a first down.

End of third quarter: AFC – 17 NFC – 7

The AFC will again attempt a field goat, this time for 31 yards. The kick is good.

AFC – 20 NFC – 7

NFC takes over the ball on the 25 yard line with Kurt Cousins in as quarterback. Cousins throws a 42 yard pass to Odell Beckham Jr. The NFC fails to reach the end zone and kicks a 42 yard field goal.

AFC – 20 NFC – 10

The AFC takes over the ball on the 25 yard line. The AFC punts the ball.

The NFC takes over the ball on the 24 yard line. On a third and 18, Cousins throws an incomplete pass. The NFC kicks a 44 yard field goal.

AFC – 20 NFC – 13

The AFC takes over the ball on the 25 yard line. The AFC punts the ball.

The NFC takes over the ball on the 31 yard line with 2:30 minutes remaining in the game and down by a touuchdown. The AFC intercepts the ball near the goal line and runs the ball back to the 10 yard line of the NFC before Kurt Cousins catches him and knocks the ball away.

After an official review the ruling stands that the AFC recovered the fumble and has the ball first and goal on the 10 yard line. With only a minute remaining in the game, the AFC takes a kneel down and wins the game 20-13.
