2017 NME Awards

The British music magazine NME held their annual awards presentation at the O2 Arena.

Christine and the Queens and Oasis topped the award winners for the night with two awards each.

The biggest event of the night was the presentation of the Godlike Genius Award which went to Synth Pop pioneers the Pet Shop Boys. The duo have been entertaining audiences for over 30 years. The Boys took the stage to perform a medley of their hits including “It’s a Sin”,”West End Girls”, and “Always on My Mind”.

Best International Male: Frank Ocean

Best International Female: Christine and the Queens
Best New Artist: Duo Lipa
Best Album: “Wild World” by Bastille
Best Track: “Tilted” by Christine and the Queens
Best Live Band: The 1975
Best Video: “Consume or Be Consumed” by the Slaves
Best Festival: Glastonbury
Best Music Film: “Oasis: Supersonic”
Best TV Series: “Fleabag”
Best Film: “My Scientology Movie”
Best Music Moment: The Viola Beach Tribute by Coldplay at the Glastonbury Festival
Best Festival Headliner: Adele
Best Small Festival: End of the Road
Villian: Nigel Farage
Hero: Beyonce
Worst Band: 5 Seconds of Summer
Best Reissue: “Be Here Now” by Oasis
