2017 Razzie Award ‘Winners’

For the past 37 years on the night before the annual Academy Award presentations the Golden Raspberry Awards are given out. The Razzies as they are called are not presented for the best in Hollywood but for the worst in Hollywood. In years past some actors have found themselves a part of both the Academy and Razzie Award nominee list in the same year.

This year the Hillary Clinton documentary and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” topped the “winners” list with four golden raspberry trophies.

The “winners” of the Razzies are chosen by members of the Razzie members; while the Worst Screen Combo award is selected by the voting public on Rotten Tomatoes.

The “winners” of the 2017 Razzie Awards are:
Worst Picture: “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party”
Worst Actor: Dinesh D’Souza portraying himself in “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party”
Worst Actress:Becky Turner as Hillary Clinton in “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party”
Worst Supporting Actress: Kristen Wiig in “Zoolander 2”
Worst Supporting Actor: Jesse Eisenberg in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”
Worst Screen Combo: Ben Afleck and Henry Cavill in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”
Worst Director: Dinesh D’Souza and Bruce Schooley for “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party”
Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Seqel: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”
Worst Screenplay: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”
The Barry L. Bumstead Award: (presented for the film that cost a great deal to make but reaped very little) “Misconduct” – it cost $11 million to make and took in only $15,150
The Razzie Redeemer Award went to Mel Gibson for “Hacksaw Ridge”
