Things get Super at The Strong Museum on March 25 when Marvel Superheroes Spider-Man and Captain America make a visit for a comically filled weekend of activities.
The festivities begin at 10:30am on March 25 when Spider-Man swings by to meet with fans and pose for photos. On March 26 Captain America drops by beginning at 12:15pm for a meet and greet.
Tickets are required for photos. Free tickets will be available one hour prior to appearance time.
Other activities available during the Superheroes weekend are the American Comic Book Heroes: The Battle of Good vs. Evil exhibit, Super Why! And Woofster, tips from professional artists…and their art, and learn how to be an Environmental Superhero with Larry the H2O Hero.
Other events happening at The Strong:
Brains are in motion on March 18 and 19 when Michael Fantauzzo returns with more of his kinetic art. The StickTrickDonimoDude will construct a sculpture and then detonate it at 3:30pm each day.
Fantauzzo is one of 15 people who constructed the Incredible Science Machine at the Michigan Science Center and toppled over 200,000 dominoes.
Visitors to The Strong on the Brains in Motion weekend can construct their own chain-reaction devices using cups, balls, ramps, dominoes, and LEGOS.
More than just a place for the youngest generation, The Strong is offering Senior Mondays on March 13 and 20 from 11am to 2pm where visitors at least 55 years of age can wander the museum at their leisure and partake in the many interactive exhibits The Strong has to offer including the National Toy Hall of Fame. Senior Mondays visits include the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden.
Admission to Senior Monday events is $10 per person.
The Strong is open Monday – Thursday 10am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday 10am to 8pm, and Sunday 12noon to 5pm. Admission to the museum is $14,50 for non members, and free to members and children under the age of two.
