‘Star Wars’ Reveals First Film Trailer

It has been many years since “Star Wars” fans have seen or heard from the young farm boy turned Jedi master Luke Skywalker, but the wait is almost over…

On April 15 Disney and Lucasfilm released the first look at a few of the events set to take place when the eighth film in the “Star Wars” saga is released on December 15.

“Star Wars” returned to the big screen after a long absence a year and a half ago with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” setting box office records around the world. After losing Han Solo in that film, Luke Skywalker makes a return to the saga. Princess Leia will also appear in the film, having filmed her parts prior to her death last year.

Luke reveals one very cryptic message at the end of the new trailer…“I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end. With fans knowing that a ninth installment will be made, where does Luke go and what does he do? Does he eventually follow his father to the dark side? In the words of Mark Hamill, “anything is possible.”

Along with the familiar “Star Wars” faces, “The Last Jedi” also introduces some new faces to the franchise including Kelly Marie Tran as maintenance worker Rose, Beicio del Toro, and Laura Dern. After making her screen debut in “The Force Awakens”, Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd follows in mom’s footsteps and returns to reprise her role as Lieutenant Connix.

Directed by Rian Johnson, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Tom Hardy as a Stormtrooper, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Laura Kern, Oscar Isaac, Billie Lourd, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Beicio Del Toro, Andy Serkis, Gareth Edwards, John Boyega, and Warwick Davis,
