2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards

It is time once again for MTV to hand out the golden buckets of popcorn as they present the annual Movie awards. This year there’s a twist…the ceremony includes awards for television.

Also new this year, the MTV awards have combined the male and female categories for the first awards show to present gender neutral awards.

The year the awards are hosted by Adam Devine.

The first award of the night was for Best Actor in a Movie to Emma Watson for her role in “Beauty and the Beast”.

The award for Best Actor in a (Television) Show went to Millie Bobby Brown for her role in “Stranger Things”.

The award for Best (non music) Duo went to Hugh Jackman and Daphne Keen in “Logan”.

Noah Cyrus gave a performance of “Stay Together”.

The award for Best Kiss went to Ashton Sanders and Jharrell Jerome in “Moonlight”.

The award for Best Fight Against the System went to Taraji P Henson in “Hidden Figures”.

J Balvin and Pitbull performs music from “Fast and the Furious”.

MTV presented the Generations Award to the “Fast and Furious” movie franchise for its global contributions to pop culture.

The Next Generation Award went to Daniel Kaluuya from “Get Out”.

The award for Tear Jerker went to Milo Ventimiglia and Lonnie Chavis in “This is Us”.

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg presented the award for Best Host to Trevor Noah of “The Daily Show”.

The Best Musical Moment was a performance of “You’re the One that I Want” from “Grease Live”.

The award for Best Reality Television went to RuPaul for “RuPaul’s Drag Race”.

The award for Best Comedic Performance went to Lil Rel Howery in “Get Out”.

The award for Movie of the Year went to “Beauty and the Beast”.

The cast of “13 Reasons Why” presented the award for Show of the Year to “Stranger Things”.

Awards not presented during the live television broadcast:

Best Hero: Taraji P. Henson in “Hidden Figures”

Best American Story: “Black-ish”

Best Villain: Jeffrey Dean Morgan in “The Walking Dead”

Best Documentary: “13th”

Trending: “Run the World (Girls)” with Channing Tatum as Beyonce in “Lip Sync Battle”
