The Bachelorette on May 22, 2017:
According to host Chris Harrison in the May 15-28, 2017 issue of TV Guide Magazine, Rachel was not chosen because of pressure to have more diversity on the show. He said, “We don’t just have knee-jerk reactions. Yes, it is incumbent on us to make our casting more diverse, but the most important thing is always going to be picking the right person. Rachel was the right choice.”
Rachel charmed everyone on Nick Viall’s season and was one of the finalists during his season. She is bright, beautiful and a Dallas litigation attorney. The 31 suitors this season will also make up the most diverse group ever to appear on the show and they come from a variety of backgrounds.
Rachel had an opportunity to meet a few of the men during the After the Final Rose show at the end of Nick’s season, which was a departure from what has been done in the past. As a result, not everyone will be a complete stranger to her.
During tonight’s episode, Rachel got advice from some of the friends she made during her time on Nick’s season. Afterwards, the viewers got a glimpse of some of the men who Rachel would be meeting this season. Then, of course, we had the traditional parade of guys arriving in limousines, followed by the cocktail party.
Some of the men made an unusual first impression, including one who showed up dressed as a penguin and one who came with his own marching band. However, Rachel told Chris that she was impressed by the men.
The men are also impressed by her, some of them comparing her to a Disney princess. Although her time is short with the men, she does get to talk to all of them … some of them more than others.
She admitted that nothing has changed since she was on the show with Nick. She still wants to get married and have children.
The men began to get jealous of each other almost immediately, Some of them decided that Lucas would be the “crazy” guy this season.
These are the men which Rachel began with this season.
