Only four queens remain on “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. Just one more week before the finals and a new winner is crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar.
Last week Shea Coulee won her fourth challenge and Alexis Michelle was sent home.
This week it was Michelle Visage who came into the workroom to give the queens their next challenge. She informs the queens that this is their last chance to prove to RuPaul that they belong in the top three. Telling the queens that they will be working with Todrick Hall, Michelle issues the challenge that the final four will have to write and record an original verse for the RuPaul song “Category Is”. The queens will also have to learn some choreography for the song. They will also have to give their debut performance of the song on the main stage.
The queens will also have a guest appearance with RuPaul and Michelle Visage on RuPaul’s podcast “What’s the T”.
Shea wrote a lot of fast lyrics for her verse and rapped it. Todrick noted that Trinity’s performance quality was only about 35 percent in the beginning. Off beat and unable to sing, Trinity was freaking out in the studio. Saying that she loves to rap, Todrick told Peppermint to run with it. At first Todrick was not sold on what Sasha had to say; noting that it sounded like she was saying lines into a voice mail.
When the queens meet with Todrick for their choreography, Todrick said that he was going to challenge them. Sasha and Trinity had issues learning their parts but Peppermint and Shea got it down right away.
Saying that it’s just family this week, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews joined RuPaul at the judge’s table this week.
After the performance where RuPaul was singing along, the queens presented their runway looks and answered a couple of questions from RuPaul – What words of wisdom would you share with your younger self and why should you be crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar.
RuPaul noted that the show is like a GPS system for young viewers trying to find their way in the world.
In their remarks on the queens, the judges said…
…that Peppermint has kept her focus with hilarious lyrics and delivered. The judges called Peppermint classic who hits her marks and has THAT thing-likability.
…Sasha is unique and was so Sasha during her performance. The judges noted that Sasha has had artistic fashion moments on the runway and reinvents drag.
…Shea always went all th way and her performance felt the most cool. The judges said that Sasha has a great package, is a great entertainer, and has proved herself every time.
Trinity has progressed throughout the season. The judges noted that she has done things talent wise that she didn’t know she could.
Noting that all four of the queens have worked their booty’s off this season and deserve to be on the stage, RuPaul has all four of the queens give a lip sync performance to her song “U Wear it Well”.
In this week’s results RuPaul announced that this week she has decided not to eliminate anyone. All four of the queens will move on to the grand finale. RuPaul noted that the race has never been so close.
