Suspect Identified in London Mosque Attack

June 19, 2017 London Metropolitan Police on Monday released the name of the suspect charged in connection to last night’s attack outside the Muslim Welfare House Mosque in #Finsbury Park.

London authorities say 48 year-old Darren Osborne, intentionally drove his white van into pedestrians as they were leaving Ramadan services at a Finsbury Park Mosque in north London. One person was killed and nine others were hospitalized in what London Metropolitan Police are now investigating as a terrorist attack. Ambulances at the scene also treated and released several people with minor injuries.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said the attack was directed at Muslims and condemned it as “every bit as sickening” as the string of attacks carried out in the United Kingdom in recent months. Earlier in June,

The Islamic State or ISIS has claimed responsibility for for similar attacks in Britain. Earlier in June, the terrorist group claimed responsibility for an attack in which three men in a white van plowed into a crowd on the London Bridge and then jumped out of the van in nearby Borough Market and began stabbing people.

A Greater Manchester Police
official announced increased security including a larger police presence at places of worship following the Finsbury Park attack.
