During the June 26, 2017 episode of The Bachelorette with Rachel Lindsay the drama and tension continued. Now that Rachel had narrowed the group of suitors down to fifteen men, and sent more home this week, both Rachel and her fans were beginning to zero in on their favorites. This was the first of a two-part special event which was to be continued on Tuesday, June 27. The Tuesday segment will also be repeated on Monday, July 3.
Below is a brief recap of the show, as well as the list of the men who received roses this week … and those who did not.
SPOILER ALERT: Do not read further if you do not want to know what happened this week!
Brief Bachelorette Recap June 26, 2017:
Rachel is a bright, beautiful Dallas attorney who now wants to set aside her career long enough to meet a potential husband. This week she continued spending time with the 15 men she brought with her to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Last week, on June 19, Rachel had already given Dean a date rose after their one-on-one date.
Rachel was still immersed in the cocktail party which followed the week’s group date when this episode began. Kenny and Lee were continuing to argue, but the other men decided not to intervene unless one of them began to throw punches. Meanwhile, Rachel continued to chat with Bryan during the group date. She stated that she enjoyed chatting with him because he focused on her and did not get involved in the drama with the other men. They shared a long, romantic kiss. In the end, she gave the group date rose to Bryan because he seemed very confident in who he is.
While Bryan and Rachel were getting romantic together, Kenny and Lee continued to argue. Lee seemed to think Kenny was aggressive. Kenny thought Lee was a snake.
Rachel then had a romantic one-on-one date with Jack in Bluffton, South Carolina. They took a horse-drawn carriage ride and chatted about the fact they were both attorneys, nearly the same age, and live in Dallas. They went to Shuckin and Shaggin where they shucked oysters. The two of them seemed to get along well, but Rachel worried there was still something missing in her relationship with Jack. Eventually she realized she needed more romance and passion from him. After explaining that she had enjoyed their date, she then told him that she did not feel a romantic connection and could not give him the date rose. Jack was sent home, very disappointed.
Back at the hotel, Kenny and Lee continued to have a great deal of tension between them, and tried to pull other men into it, which they resisted.
The next morning in Hilton Head, Rachel admitted it had been very hard to send Jack home. She said she was now clear on who to send home and who to keep, so she decided to skip the weekly cocktail party and go straight to the rose ceremony. She sent two more men home, reducing the remaining group to twelve. See the list of those who received roses and those who were sent home below.
After wrapping up her week in South Carolina and sending a few men home, Rachel and the twelve lucky remaining men headed across the Atlantic to Oslo, Norway.
Once they arrived in Oslo, Rachel was eager to explore the city. She grabbed Bryan for the first one-on-one date in Norway. Dean said he thought Bryan was over-confident and would be sent home. Meanwhile, Rachel told Bryan that she knows they have a physical connection, but wanted to know if they have an emotional connection, too. While on this date, Rachel and Bryan had the opportunity to rappel down the Holmenkollen Olympic ski jump. As they repelled, the two of them kissed. They were 187 feet in the air and watching them rappel was one of the scariest events I have watched on The Bachelorette. When they reached the bottom, they kissed again. A few minutes later, they were kissing again.
Rachel told Bryan that she could see him in her future. She wondered why he was still single. She felt insecure, but Bryan told her that he was falling in love with her. She gave him a second rose during this episode. He had to be feeling pretty good about that! He has received the First Impression Rose, a group date rose and the rose after a one-on-one date.
Back at the hotel, another group date card arrived. The men who were named on the card were Adam, Dean, Anthony, Peter, Matt, Will, Alex, Eric and Josiah. That left Lee and Kenny who would be getting a two-on-one date.
The guys on the group date went to a gym where Rachel told them they would be playing handball. They had a professional coach and team to teach them the game. She was impressed that the men, especially Will, seemed to embrace the sport. Afterwards, she spent time talking to the men and getting to know them better. They were all trying to woo her. She gave Will the group date rose.
During the two-on-one tape, Rachel was frustrated over the ongoing tension between Kenny and Lee. She said she wanted to get to the truth, but she kept getting different stories from both of them. Both Lee and Kenny believed they achieved what they wanted when they told Rachel their view of things.
The episode ended with Kenny laughing as he walked back to where Lee was sitting. We will have to wait until tomorrow to find out which man was sent home from the two-on-one date.
