Brief Bachelorette Recap July 24, 2017:
Rachel is a bright, beautiful Dallas attorney, who spent this week getting to know the three remaining bachelors better by introducing them to her family and then taking them to Spain for the overnight dates.
This week’s journey began when Rachel took each of the remaining men, Bryan, Eric and Peter, separately to meet her family in Dallas. This gave her the opportunity to consider what her future would be like if she married any of them. She told the men that usually only the final two men meet the bachelorette’s family, but she wanted to do this now because her sister is 8 months pregnant and would not be able to travel.
Peter was the first of the men to meet Rachel’s family. They started out by visiting a baby boutique to pick out something for her sister’s baby and her three year old nephew. During the day, Peter told Rachel how he felt about her, saying that she meant the world to him. Despite that, however, he told her family that he still had reservations about getting married. During last week’s episode, Peter’s mother had told Rachel that she wasn’t sure Peter was reach to get married. Perhaps he would just “commit” to her. This continued to worry Rachel, because she is not looking for a boyfriend, but a husband. After Peter told Rachel’s mother that he still had reservations about marriage, Rachel felt even less secure about their relationship, although Peter felt the day went well.
Eric went on the next date to meet her family. She toured Dallas with him, including the observation deck at Reunion tower. She also showed him where she lives and her father works. Eric connected well with Rachel’s family, in particular because of his difficult background. Rachel’s family was concerned, however, about the fact that Eric admitted he had never been in love before. They wondered whether we was emotionally mature enough for a long-term relationship, although he insisted he now wants to be a husband and father.
Bryan and Rachel started their date by having lunch with a couple of her girlfriends. He told them he is a chiropractor and had had his own practice for eight years. came across as overconfident when he met her family. Rachel’s family shared her concern that he might be too good to be true. In his case, they wondered if he was being sincere. They also ask about his loyalty to his mother. If there was a conflict between mother and wife, where would his loyalties lie? He said he would support his wife. The family asked Bryan some difficult questions which annoyed Rachel, who jumped to his defense. He insisted that the questions are fair and he plans to propose to Rachel at the end of this.
After the family time, Rachel and the men headed to Rioja, Spain to spend two weeks and enjoy romantic overnight dates. Despite the beautiful setting and private time, Rachel knew she still had some concerns about each of the men.
In Spain, Rachel took Eric on an incredible helicopter ride over the area. Then, they climbed up the stone steps of a monastery and discussed their future. Later, they had a romantic dinner evening together, Eric told Rachel he loved her and, later, the two of them headed to the Fantasy Suite together.
Peter and Rachel visited a vineyard and explored the wine cellars. They even received keys to a wine cellar in their names. Finally, they talked about Peter’s hesitation to get engaged. When he continued to say that he might not be able to propose to her, despite being in love, she ended up in tears, completely devastated
The final date was with Bryan. We will have to find out in two weeks what happened, and if she gets engaged.
