CWTS Make Quick Work of Pocono

Kicking off a double header weekend in the mountains of Pennsylvania, the Camping World Truck Series comes to the tricky triangle of Pocono for the Overton’s 150.

Setting a new track record for qualifying under 53 seconds around the 2.5 mile track, Ben Rhodes wins the pole and will bring the field to green.

In a short race of 60 laps, stages one and two are only 15 laps with stage three 30 laps long. With a fuel window of 32 to 35 laps, the drivers can run the race on only one fuel stop.

Choosing the outside lane Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and jumps out in front of Kyle Busch for the lead.

Kyle Busch passes Ben Rhodes on the outside to take over the lead of the race before the end of the first lap.

Lap three, Kyle Busch had a half second lead on Ben Rhodes.

Lap five Kyle Busch has increased his lead to over a second and after starting at the back of the field, Johnny Sauter is in 13th place.

Lap seven Kyle Busch has a lead of nearly a second and a half on Ben Rhodes.

Lap 10 Kyle Busch has a lead of nearly three seconds on Ben Rhodes.

Matt Mills, Camden Murphy, Joe Nemechek, and Mike Senica are off the track. Th ere are 26 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap eleven Kyle Busch has pulled out to a lead ov nearly four secondd on Christopher Bell.

Lap 13 Kyle Busch has a three second lead on Christopher Bell.

Taking only two tires, Kyle Busch wins the race off of pit road.

Noah Gragson pitted outside of his pit box and was held for a lap penalty after finishing the stage in the top 10.

Kyle Busch brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 20 and pulls out for the lead but gets challenged by Ryan Truex. Busch holds on to the lead of the race.

Lap 22 Kyle Busch has a lead of over half a second on Ryan Truex with 22 trucks on the lead lap. Johnny Sauter has moved into the top 10. Matt Mills, Camden Murphy, and Joe Nemechek are out of the race.

Lap 26 Kyle Busch has a lead of a second and a half over Ryan Truex. Some drivers are making green flag pit stops before pit road closes two laps before the end of stage two.

Mike Senica and Travis Kvapil are out of the race.

Taking only two tires, Christopher Bell wins the race off of pit road but is not in the lead since some drivers stayed out on the track.

After starting the race at the back of the field, Johnny Sauter brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 36 with Johnny Sauter getting out in front of Matt Crafton for the lead.

The third caution flag of the race comes out on lap 36 when Kyle Busch and Justin Haley make contact and hits the wall.

Johnny Sauter brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 40 and edges out John Hunter Nemechek for the lead of the race. N

Noah Gragson brings out the fourth caution flag when he makes contact with Kaz Grala.

Kaz Grala is on the five minute clock.

Johnny Sauter brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 45 and holds on to the lead of the race.

Kaz Grala is out of the race.

John Hunter Nemechek passes Johnny Sauter for the lead of the race.

Fifteen laps remaining in the race – John Hunter Nemecheck is in the lead with Johnny Sauter in second and followed by Christopher Bell in third.

Lap 50 John Hunter Nemechek and Christopher Bell battle it out for the lead with Christopher Bell finally taking over the top spot on lap 54 with a little help from third place driver Ben Rhodes.

Ben Rhodes and John Hunter Nemechek battle it out for second place with Christopher Bell over a second out in front with four laps remaining in the race.

Ben Rhodes gets around John Hunter Nemechek and then Ryan Truex passes Nemechek for third.

Three to go and Christopher Bell has a near two second lead on Ben Rhodes.

Two to go and Christopher Bell has a two second lead non Ben Rhodes.

White flag – Christopher Bell has a lead of over two seconds on Ben Rhodes.

Christopher Bell wins the Overton’s 150 for his fourth win of the season.
