CWTS Ends Regular Season in Chicago

The Camping World Truck Series kicks off a triple header weekend with TheHouse225 in Chicagoland.

This is the final race of the regular season for the CWTS. In the Truck Series only eight drivers move on to the playoffs and heading into Chicago only one spot remains open.

After two rounds of qualifying and just missing the track record Ryan Truex earns his first Camping World Truck Series pole.

Stages one and two of the race are 35 laps each with stage three lasting 80 laps for a total of 150 laps around the mile and a half track.

Ryan Truex brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and jumps out in front of Chase Briscoe for the lead.

Christopher Bell and Ryan Truex battle it out for the lead swapping the lead with Ryan Truex finally getting out in front for the lead.

Gray Gaulding brings out the first caution flag of the race.

Ryan Truex brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap six and edges out Christopher Bell for the lead of the race.

Lap eight Joe Nemechek, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Mike Senica, and Gray Gaulding are all off the track.

Lap 10 Ryan Truex holds on to the lead.

Kevin Donahue brings out the second caution flag of the race when he gets into the wall on lap 13.

Ryan Truex brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 18 and holds on to the lead of the race.

Lap 27 Christopher Bell has a lead of over a second on Ryan Truex.

Myatt Snider brings out the third caution flag of the race on lap 29 when he spins out.

When pit road opens most of the drivers bring their trucks down pit road for fresh tires and fuel.

Matt Crafton wins the race off of pit road.

After staying out on the track, Ryan Truex brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 34 with Truex holding on to the lead as drivers get four wide behind him.

Ben Rhodes was charges with an uncontrolled tire on pit road and will have to restart the race at the back of the field.

Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric bring the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 42 with Chase Briscoe getting out in front of the field for the lead.

On lap 45 Chase Briscoe has a lead of just under half a second on Christopher Bell.

Lap 53 Chase Briscoe continues to lead the race with Christopher Bell just a tenth of a second behind.

Lap 56 Christopher Bell passes Chase Briscoe for the lead of the race.

Lap 58 Christopher Bell has pulled out to a lead of nearly half a second on Chase Briscoe.

Lap 63 Christopher Bell has increased his lead to nearly a second on Chase Briscoe. There are 17 trucks on the lead lap.

Christopher Bell wins the race off of pit road.

Ben Rhodes is reporting a clutch issue. Grant Enfinger had to make a second trip down pit road.

Christopher Bell brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 78 but it was Matt Crafton who jumped out in front for the lead.

After Matt Crafton got loose, Christopher Bell retakes the lead.

Ben Rhodes may have a tire and is smoking.

Lap 82 Christopher Bell has a lead of just over a quarter of a second on Chase Briscoe.

Lap 91 Christopher Bell has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Chase Briscoe.

Lap 94 Christopher Bell has increased his lead to just under two seconds on Chase Briscoe, Ryan Truex is in third over six seconds behind.

Lap 100 – 50 to go – Christopher Bell has a lead of over two and a half seconds on Chase Briscoe, Ryan Truex is in third over eight seconds behind with Johnny Sauter on his bumper and driving faster laps than the leader.

The drivers cannot make it to the end of the race without making one more pit stop.

The caution flag comes out when Matt Crafton spins out and ran through the grass for an off road excursion.

A long line of trucks makes the trip down pit road for service.

Ben Rhodes had to make a second trip down pit road for some truck damage repairs..

After staying out on the track Justin Haley will bring the field down for the green flag restart on lap 110. Drivers get three wide on the restart with Chase Briscoe taking the lead.

Lap 111 Christopher Bell retakes the lead with 15 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 115 Christopher Bell has a lead of over half a second on Ryan Truex with Johnny Sauter in third less than a second behind.

Johnny Sauter passes Christopher Bell for the lead when Bell gets sideways.

With 26 laps remaining in the race Johnny Sauter has a lead of over a second on Christopher Bell.

Lap 130 Justin Haley brings his truck down pit road for fresh tires and fuel.

Christopher Bell has closed the gap to lead Johnny Sauter down to under a second but one lap later the lead is back up to over a second.

Eighteen to go Chase Briscoe passes Christopher Bell to take over second place. Johnny Sauter’s lead is now over two seconds over Christopher Bell who has retaken second place.

Fifteen to go and Johnny Sauter has a lead of over two seconds on Chase Briscoe who has one again passed Christopher Bell for second.

Ten to go, Johnny Sauter’s lead is down to under two seconds on Chase Briscoe with Christopher Bell in third over three second behind. There are 13 trucks on the lead lap.

Five to go and Johnny Sauter has a near two second lead on Chase Briscoe with Christopher Bell in third over five seconds behind. There are eleven trucks on the lead lap.

Johnny Sauter takes the white flag with Chase Briscoe over two seconds behind.

Christopher Bell wins the regular season title and 15 extra playoff points after winning four races during the season and leads the CWTS in poles and laps led.

Ryan Truex and Ben Rhodes end the season tied in points but after coming in second at Pocono, Ben Rhodes fills the final spot in the playoffs.
