New Music from Johnny Mathis – Old and New

Johnny Mathis has been making music for over 60 years and has released dozens of albums. On September 29 Mathis will add to that list with the release of “Johnny Mathis Sings The Great New American Songbook”.


With the aid of award winning producers Babyface Edmonds and Clive Davis the crooner puts his signature sound on modern hits including music by Adele, Keith Urban, Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars, and Leonard Cohen. Soprano saxophone virtuoso Kenny G appears on the song “Run to You”.

In addition, Legacy Recordings has planned a massive career spanning collection of Johnny Mathis’ music. On December 8Legacy will release “The Voice of Romance: The Columbia Original Album Collection”. The collection consists of 68 discs dating all the way back to 1955.

Legacy and Mathis worked together on the project digging through a lifetime of live and studio recordings to create a collection of music that has been remastered and restored. The collection includes 25 albums that are available on CD for the very first time, two previously unreleased albums, and two discs featuring 40 previously unreleased songs. The new album will also be included in the boxed set.
