In this issue of Musical Notes Bob Dylan gets bootlegged, REM gets boxed, and the Sex Pistols celebrate 40 years.

Bob Dylan:
Nobel Laurette Bob Dylan has been making music for over 50 years and has released numerous albums.

On November 3 Dylan is releasing a new edition to his bootleg series with “Trouble No More – The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 / 1979-1981”.

The new collection features Gospel music from the time he converted from a Jewish upbringing to embrace Christianity with the release of “Slow Train Coming”, “Saved”, and “Shot of Love”.

The set is being offered as a two CD and our vinyl album packages. The deluxe package will include eight CDs and a DVD that include 100 live and studio recordings that are being released for the first time – with 14 of those songs being included on a Dylan album for the very first time. The DVD is a musical film of live performances that have never been seen outside of the original live performances.

REM:
Atlanta rockers REM will celebrate 25 years since the original release of “Automatic for the People” with a new boxed set on November 10. Being released by Craft Records, the collection will feature 20 previously unreleased song demos and a remastered edition of the original album.

Craft Records is also offering a deluxe package of “Automatic for the People” that includes a copy of REM’s only live performance in 1992 at the “Live at the 40 Watt Club” on November 19, seven music videos formatted in Blu-Ray HD, and a 60 page book.

The package is compiled in a 12 inch square lift top box with handle.

A non boxed two disc edition featuring the remastered edition of the album and the live concert is also being offered.

 

Sex Pistols:
Celebrating 40 years since the release of their debut album “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols”, the British punk rockers are releasing an anniversary edition of the album with a few extras.Set for an October 27 release,

The set will feature the original album, B-sides, outtakes, some live performances, and a DVD of live performances that includes a boat party on the Thames. The package also includes a 48 page book featuring some rare Sex Pistol photos.
