Xfinity Series: Kansas Lottery 300

The Xfinity Series kicks off a double header weekend with the Kansas Lottery 300 from Kansas Speedway.

After last week’s elimination race at Talladega, William Byron tops the playoff leaderboard followed by:

After three rounds of qualifying on a very windy day, Tyler Reddick won the pole and will bring the field to green.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the one and a half mile track.

Erik Jones leads the first lap.

A storm is expected to move in sometime during the race. The teams are hoping that it does not arrive before the end of stage two where it would be considered a complete race.

Jeff Green is off the track.

Lap five Erik Jones still holds on to the lead. William Byron and Matt Tifft have moved up to 24th and 25th after starting the race at the back of the field.

Gray Gaulding is off the track. There are 36 cars on the lead lap.

Erik Jones holds on to the lead of the race on lap 10.

Lap 18 Erik Jones is in the lead with Matt Tifft in 14th and Willian Byron in 16th place.

Lap 23 Erik jones continues to lead the field.

William Byron is fighting loose conditions on a very blustery day and has brushed the wall twice.

Lap 26 Erik Jones has dominated the race so far leading every lap.

Reed Sorenson is off the track.

Lap 35 Erik Jones leads the race with 23 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 36 Erik Jones has a two second lead on Ryan Blaney.

Erik Jones’ lead has dropped to a second and a half on Ryan Blaney with 20 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 41 Erik Jones continues to lead the race. Jennifer Jo Cobb, Morgan Shepherd, Reed Sorenson, Gray Gaulding, and Jeff Green are all off the track.

Erik Jones wins the race off of pit road.

Ty Dillon was charged with a commitment cone violation and will have to restart the race at the back of the field.

Erik Jones brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 52 but Tyler Reddick gets a push and passes Jones for the lead of the race.

Lap 55 Tylder Reddick in front of the field but gets passed by Erik Jones to retake the lead. There are only 20 cars on the lead lap.

Timmy Hill is off the track.

Lap 38 William Byron has moved into the top 10 in ninth place; Matt Tifft is in 13th.

Lap 61 Erik Jones once again dominates the field.

Lap 71 Erik Jones has a lead of over two seconds on Ryan Blaney with19 cars on the lead lap and five cars out of the race.

Ellito Sadler brings out the caution flag on lap 77 when he gets loose and spins out. He was in sixth place when he spun out and made a run through the grass.

A few drivers bring their cars down pit road for service.

There was a fire in Elliott Sadler’s pit but the team quickly doused the flames.

Erik Jones brings the field down for the gree fflag restar on lap 81 and holds on to the lead. Matt Tift is now in the top 10 in ninth place.

Ryan Blaney passes Erik Jones for the lead of the race.

Lap 82 Erik Jones challeneges Ryan Blaney for the lead asthe drivers get three wide behind them.

Erik Jones continues to challenge Ryan Blaney for the lead and finally passes Blaney to retake the lead.

Erik Jones wins stage two with a one second lead over Ryan Blaney.

Taking only fuel Austin Dillon wins the race off of pit road. Cole Custer comes out secnd after taking only two tires. Erik Jones comes out third with four fresh tires.

After staying out on the track, Ty Dillon and Blake Koch are out in front and will bring the field down for the green flag.

Ty Dillon brngs the field down for the green flag start of stage three and holds on to the lead on lap 97.

Lap 98 Erik Jones passes Dillon to take over the lead of the race.

Halfway – lap 100 – the drivers are getting three wide across the track.

Erik Jones is in the lead with Christopher Bell in second and Justin Allgaier in third.

So far Erik Jones has led 95 of the 105 laps run in the race.

Brandon Jones is having radio issues and the team has reverted to the old hand signals to send messages.

Lap 108 Erik Jones has a lead of over two seconds on Ryan Blaney. There are 21 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 112 Erik Jones has increased his to three seconds on Ryan Blaney..

Lap 118 Erik Jones has pulled out to a lead of nearly four seconds on Ryan Blaney with 21 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 122 the top four are Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, and Justin Allgaier.

Justin Allgaier is reporting an odd sound in his engine – possible exhaust leak.

Lp 129 Erik Jones is “driving like he stole it” with a lead of over five seconds on Ryan Blaney.

Ryan Sieg brings out the caution flag on lap 238 when he spins out. With 62 laps remaining in the race, it is just outside the window for drivers to make it to the end of the race on a load of fuel. Dylan Lupton is the “lucky dog”.

Taking only two tires Erick Jones wins the race off of pit road. When Daniel Hemric slid into his pit stop, he slid passed it and was charged with pitting outside of his pit stall. His team changed a tire before moving the car back into the pit box properly. As a result, he will have to serve a one lap penalty.

Choosing the inside lane, Erik Jones brings the field down for the green flag restart with only 56 laps remaining in the race. Jones nad Christopher Bell are running side by side battleing for the lead. On lap 145 Erik Jones takes the lead from Christopher Bell.

NBC pit reporters are showing a number of teams who had cording on their tires.

With 51 laps remaining in the race Erik Jones has a near one second lead on Christopher Bell.

Ryan Blaney has passed Christopher Bell for second behind leader Erik Jones.

Lap 158 Erik Jones has a lead of over a second and a half over Ryan Blaney. Erik Jones has led over 140 laps so far in this race.

Lap 162 Erik Jones has a lead of nearly two seconds on Ryan Blaney. There are 19 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 166 Erik Jones has a lead of over two seconds on Ryan Blaney.

Blake Koch has brushed the wall and has a smoking tire. He made it to pit road and the track stays green.

Lap 173 Erik Jones continues to dominate the race with a lead of two and a half seconds over Ryan Blaney. There are 19 cars on the lead lap.

With 23 laps remaining in the race, Ryan Blaney has closed the gap behind Erik Jones to a second and a half.

With only 14 laps remaining in the race, Erik Jones continues his dominating lead with Ryan Blaney in second, Christopher Bell in third and Tyler Reddick in fourth.

Ten to go and Erik Jones has a lead of nearly two seconds on Ryan Blaney. Jones has led all but 10 laps of the race so far.

Reports are that Justin Allgaier is having tire issues.

At 47 laps, it is the longest green flag run of the day.

With only six laps remaining in the race, Erik Jones has a lead of less than a second on Christopher Bell.

With five to go Christopher Bell has closed the gap to Erik Jones to less than half a second.

Three to go and Christopher Bell has caught Erik Jones and catches him. After Christopher Bell passes Erik Jones, Jones bumped Bell.
