On the second night of a special three night event of “The Voice”, Adam Levine’s team performs. By the end of the show Adam will have cut his team in half in preparation for the live fan vote performances.
Getting things started off is Adam’s steal Adam Cunningham with the Joe Cocker song “Have a Little Faith in Me”. Adam’s former coach Blake Shelton said speaking of faith, Adam had the holy ghost up there; adding that Adam did an incredible job. Jennifer said htat she felt the energy and the spirit in the performance. Noting that it is the last time the coaches decide, Miley said that Adam is quickly becoming a fan favourite. Saying that Adam did a great job, Adam Levine noted that Adam Cunningham is one of those people who are just emerging.
Adam chose Whitney Fennimore for his comeback artist. Whitney performed the Cheryl Crowe song “If it Makes You Happy”. Blake said that it would be cool to have a rocker chick on the show but noted that Whitney struggled in the first half of the song. Adam said that Whitney performed the song perfectly and showed him a lot of strength.
Emily Luther chose to give her performance of “Love Song the James Bond film treatment. Host Carson Daly noted that the song sounded like a James Bond film opening. Saying that she did a good job, Blake said that Emily is poised and professional. Jennifer said that she felt more presence and personality in the performance. Calling the performance amazing, Adam said that Emily is making huge steps in the right direction; adding that she is an amazing talent.
Anthony Alexander took on the Ed Sheeran song “Perfect”. Noting that Anthony is super talented, Blake said that he still detected a lot of nerves. Saying that he has a beautiful voice, Jennifer felt like Anthony was singing to her; adding that she is a big fan. Miley said that Alexander did a great job and nailed it. Adam said that it wasn’t a matter of if but when Anthony would be ready; adding that he has tremendous talent.
John Mero took on Adele with “When We Were Young” and in the words of Blake Shelton, “slayed it.” Blake said that John’s voice is like a laser that cuts through with clarity; adding that he did an incredible job. Jennifer said that the moment John just had is the moment everybody should have. Adam said that John was excellent and did an incredible job; adding that John is multi talented.
The final performance of the night was Addison Egan with the Bonnie Raitt song “Angel from Montgomery”. Saying that he loves Addison, Blake said that there is so much character in her voice and has an understanding of how to convey a lyric. Jennifer wanted to know all of Addison’s social media addresses. Miley – her former coach – was thinking that Addison could win it. Adam noted that there are so many things Addison does subtlety; adding that she is so special in a profound way. Adam called Addison an unicorn.
The time has come for Adam to make his choices for his live performance team.
Telling that they were all tremendous and they impressed him, Adam chose Addison Egan, John Mero, and saying that there were a lot of curve balls today; Adam’s final choice was Adam Cunningham.
On Wednesday Miley’s team will perform and make her decisions on who to take to the live shows.
