Chicago is one of the most interesting cities in the country, with many Fortune 500 companies, endless industries, and countless ways to climb the corporate ladder: but what types of jobs can you do best in?

1. Manufacturing

Manufacturing is king in Chicago, boosting the economy with over $92 billion in activity every single year. Countless leading manufacturers for everything from technology to lifestyle brands call this city home and are proud to run out of Chicago. Management and IT services have grown alongside this manufacturing industry to help keep it running as smoothly as possible.

Retail is one of the biggest deals for Chicago. Over 350,000 people are employed in this industry here, and it continues to grow and change over recent years. Although online shopping still continues to grow and thrive, there’s no stopping the in-person shops that call Chicago home.
